Les Gravelles is situated 9 kms west of Confolens in the Charente region of France
The property is located in the Poitou Charente area of South West France and is approx 400 miles south of Calais.

Although the property is in an isolated setting, surrounded by trees, fields and hills, you are still within easy reach of shops and the main roads.
The village of Ambernac is near the medieval town of Confolens and is approximately a 45 minute drive from the larger town of Limoges, 30 minutes from Angouleme and 1 hour south of Poitiers.
This is a really unspoilt part of France with some superb countryside.

Driving time from Calais is around 6.5 hours (this does not allow time for stops)

You can also go to Le Havre or St Malo which is a shorter driving time but the ferry journey is longer.
The drive is very easy, and if you choose to can be done on motorway roads virtually all of the way.
If you have not driven in France before don’t Panic !
The roads are far less congested than in the UK and very easy to drive on. However, I would suggest that you keep away from the Paris in the rush hour, as this can get very busy.
