the main roads.
The village of Ambernac is near the town of Confolens which is around 45 minutes drive
from Limoges airport, and approx
1 hour from Poitiers. This is a really unspoilt part of France with some superb countryside.
The nearest large towns are Confolens
and Angouleme. Anglouleme is the larger of the two towns but both have all the amenities you require, you also have a Casino (supermarket)
in Ansac which is a 5 kilometres drive from the property.
Directions for the supermarket will be sent to you, following your final payment and there will also be directions in the Villa –
there is nothing worse than trying to find the local supermarket in a foreign country after a long journey!
Driving time from Calais
is around 6.5 hours – depending on how fast you drive!
You can also go to Le Havre or St Malo which is a shorter driving time but the ferry journey is longer.
The drive is very easy, and
if you choose to can be done on motorway roads virtually all the way.
If you have not driven in France before don’t panic!
The roads are far less congested than in the UK and very easy to drive on. However,
I would suggest that you keep away from Paris in the rush hour, as this can get very busy.
